Atabey is a supreme goddess of Taino mythology (native tribe that inhabit the Caribbean islands and throughout the diaspora) who represents the earth, fresh waters and fertility. She is always depicted in a birthing position grounding herself, a nurturer, and frog legs as her sacred animal (sacred animal of the Tainos). She gave birth to herself from all the elements creating the world around her. May we always rebirth ourselves through any season!
